Stone Block Slab Yield by Kerf

Estimate theoretical slab count, separating-cut loss, and remaining stock along one sawing dimension.

Inputs

Project inputs

Range: at least 0.01 in

Use the measured block dimension along the planned parallel-slicing direction.

Range: at least 0 in

Enter total material removed from both ends plus any separately planned end-separation cut. Do not include cuts between slabs. Enter 0 only if end preparation removes no stock.

Range: at least 0.01 in

Enter the saw-cut thickness needed for the final product; include any per-slab stock required for calibration, grinding, or finishing. No universal finishing allowance is assumed.

Range: at least 0 in

Use actual cut width between adjacent slabs, not blade core thickness. Zero is only a theoretical no-kerf bound.

Result

End-preparation allowance exceeding block dimension
—
Separating-cut kerf loss
—
Unallocated usable stock
—
Theoretical slab count
—
Usable block dimension after end preparation
